News - KEY MEETING WITH ROYAL SCOTSGavin Brown has been battling hard for months to help save the Royal Scots and the other Scottish Regiments. An announcement is imminent about their fate. Earlier this week Shadow Secretary of State for Scotland, Peter Duncan MP, joined Gavin as they met the President of the Royal Scots Club, Bob Paterson, along with Robert Watson and other campaigners to save Scottish Regiments. After the meeting Gavin said: - “The Royal Scots have been a cornerstone of life here in Edinburgh for hundreds of years. We have depended on them in times of trouble, and our message to them today is that they can now depend on us. The fight to save them will continue, regardless of what the Labour government announce this week. The Royal Scots are not great because they are old – they are old because they are great. In the very first week of a Conservative government after the next General Election, we will take action to keep it that way, by reinstating it as a single-battalion regiment.” Show your support for the troops by joining the march along Princes Street. The march begins at 11am on Saturday 18th December, meeting at Waverley Bridge. |
