News - CAMPAIGN TO SAVE THE GREENBELTAt the end of 2004 we mentioned the success, at least for the time being, of saving the field at Liberton Drive and Alnwickhill Road. Given the depth of feeling from residents and the importance of the field to the local community, it would be great to see the field saved for the long-term. Several members of the community got in touch with us to see what else could be done. Gavin commented: - “I would like to see the field being awarded an even higher status than greenbelt. I will write to the Council to see if it could be given the same status as a park – that way it could be protected for decades to come. ” |
