News - COUNCIL TAX SCANDAL

The Labour controlled Edinburgh City Council has failed to collect over £79 million in unpaid Council Tax since 1997. This is according to figures released by Audit Scotland during January.

For many residents this will be particularly galling, as February is traditionally the month where we learn about the next Council Tax hike.

Gavin Brown said: -

“The collection rate in Edinburgh is unacceptable and the Labour council is simply not offering local taxpayers value for money. The Conservative Party would reduce Council Tax and start being accountable to the residents of this city”
