News - Visit from Bethany Christian Trust
Gavin hosted a visit of the Bethany Christian Trust recently in Holyrood. A group from the men's drop-in centre came to discuss a range of issues. The Bethany Christian Trust provides a variety of vital services to help homeless people, from those who are literally sleeping rough to those who need assistance in coping with a tenancy. Bethany Care Shelter has the support of around 75 churches (offering over 500 volunteers) who help provide this service in Edinburgh every winter. The Edinburgh Care Shelter runs for approximately 22 weeks from November to April. Gavin said: - After spending an afternoon at the men's drop-in centre I invited a group to visit the Scottish Parliament for a tour and a discussion about what politicians should be doing to help. |
