News - Standing up for Small BusinessesGavin hosted the 2011 manifesto launch of the Federation of Small Businesses at the Scottish Parliament. The event was well-attended by small business owners and politicians of all stripes. Gavin set the scene for the event and then handed over to Colin Borland of the FSB for the main presentation. The FSB have a number of sound and practical proposals for helping Scotland's economy grow. Gavin commented: - "I have enjoyed working with the FSB over the last few years - especially on the Small Business Bonus. The Small Business Bonus means that over 70,000 businesses pay reduced rates or no business rates at all. It was great to meet business owners who felt that this policy had either helped them survive or allowed them to take on new staff. This is a policy that needs to be protected - small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy. |
