News - Braeside House Visit
Gavin had the opportunity to visit Braeside House in Liberton and have a lively discussion with residents. Opened in 1999, Braeside House is an award winning purpose built Care Home for older people who are registered blind or visually impaired, operated by Royal Blind. The following article (slightly amended) appeared in the Winter 2007 edition of the iSite, the Royal Blind magazine. Shadow Minister for Enterprise, Energy and Tourism, Gavin Brown MSP recently visited Braeside House to participate in a Discussion Forum with residents. Gavin lives locally in Edinburgh and is a list MSP. He was invited to visit the home by one of the residents, who initially wrote to congratulate Gavin on his election success and invite him to come and talk with residents. A range of topics were debated at the visit with Gavin tackling some really difficult issues of importance to the residents. |
