News - Stage 1 of the Scottish BudgetGavin was the closing speaker for the Scottish Conservatives during Stage 1 of the Scottish Budget Bill. For the last few years the Conservatives have been a responsible party of opposition - holding the Scottish Government to account when required but working with them where we agree to deliver for Scotland. Gavin commented after the debate: - "In the last few years Conservatives have secured 1,000 extra police officer, the scrapping of business rates for many small businesses, a Town Centre Regeneration Fund and a Council Tax freeze. We voted 'yes' to Stage 1 of the Bill but want to see more measures at the next stage to allow jobs to be created and to help our economy grow." |
