News - SERVE RADIO PRESENTER
If you are an Edinburgh South resident you may have heard your local community radio station, SERVE radio, when it was on air. The station was popular with listeners and featured a mixture of music and ‘talk radio’, with a focus on the local community. Gavin was invited to ‘take the field’ and act as a volunteer presenter, with a weekly slot live on air. Gavin commented: - "Being a volunteer presenter on SERVE radio was a unique experience. I took the opportunity to interview important local figures such as the Editor of the South Edinburgh Echo, the Chair of Morningside Community Council and the Chair of Marchmont/Sciennes Community Council." As with most local stations, SERVE was only granted a licence to broadcast for a month. There is a chance that another licence could be given in the future. Would you like to see YOUR local station back on the airwaves? If so, then please show your support by sending an e-mail to info@gavinbrown.org |
