News - WE CAN WIN EDINBURGH SOUTH
Recent press reports have once again confirmed that the Conservatives have an excellent chance of winning Edinburgh South at the General Election. Our hard-working and energetic candidate, Gavin Brown, is standing up for people all over the constituency. Gavin lives in the constituency and is passionate about the local issues that affect us all. On top of that, the boundary changes are entirely in our favour: - Fact 1: The new Edinburgh South seat includes the Tory-held Fairmilehead ward, one of our best wards in the country. At the last council election we had a majority of over 2000 votes. Fact 2: The new seat includes the Tory-held South Morningside ward. Our Conservative Councillor increased our share of the vote there even further at the last Council election. Fact 3: During the North Morningside/Grange by-election in October 2003, the Scottish Conservatives achieved a massive 16.5% swing against the Liberal Democrats. We have gained enormously from the boundary changes |
